Poverty in a House

                    Poverty is defined as a lack of funds to cover basic requirements such as food, clothes, and shelter. Poverty, on the other hand, is much more than simply not having enough money to support the basic needs of an individual. According to IGH Framework (2017), Poverty and homelessness are intricately intertwined. When individuals or families are unable to create enough revenue to pay for essentials such as housing, food, childcare, health care, and education, necessities with a high financial burden may be neglected. Although the cost of living and housing have grown, incomes have not kept pace, and eviction is becoming more widespread as a result of an inability to pay rent or mortgage payments. On the other hand, poverty is under socio-political issue because the events that make up the context are based on social and political activities that are governed by laws, rules, customs, and values within a community.

                        On the poem entitled Sad Little Angels, written by Amparo Asuncion poverty was clearly symbolizes, especially on the second line stating that the roofs have holes, and the walls have cracks. these problems was commonly facing by most of the individuals. we can say that the poem was fit to socio-political issue because the author clearly stating a typical and common problem of our society, that is the ugly and poor scenery of an environment. The absence of any possibility of moving on in life and overcoming poverty is then depicted in the second and third stanzas. This section implies that the homes had no other option except to stare at others and desire for their freedom. Given that they have fallen into abject poverty and have been left shattered and submerged in the river, they have lost all hope. The river is a metaphor for the difficulties and lack of freedom that prevent people from feeling alive and content. Finally, the author recounts how these dwellings envision their future in the last verse. till they are totally forgotten, to be totally obliterated, to become ashes. In the poem, we can definitely figure out that poverty is a serious problem that we should resolve or reduce because a lot of people are facing it and suffering from it. 

                    Poverty is a serious problem that many individuals are facing and that is under a socio-political issue because it is a societal problem. A lot of people and families in one society are facing it. And the poem Sad Little Houses was illustrating the poverty through stating some real information about the characteristics of poverty that can be seen in the appearance of a house.
